Harlem Gospel
Choir August 21, 2005 ~ 6:30 p.m. at
Plymouth Wesleyan Church Underwritten by:
Michiana Contracting, Inc. and Plymouth Foundry, Inc. Ticket Price:
$15.00 Adults; $8.00 Students (Grades K-12) The world famous Harlem
Gospel Choir, founded in 1986, is one of the pre-eminent gospel choirs in the
world. It travels the globe, sharing its joy of faith through its music. The
Choir has shared their message of love, peace and harmony for many years with
thousands of people from various nations, backgrounds, and cultures. During
2003 and 2004 the Choir toured the world on an extended "Give Peace a Chance"
tour. In recognition of its work, the Choir was granted a private audience with
His Holiness, Pope John Paul II. This year the Choir will embark on its new
"God Bless the Children" world tour. Encore is pleased to be able to bring this
world renowned Choir to you in cooperation with other Midwest venues.

Fischoff Winner: Lloyd-Carr Harris String
Quartet October 18, 2005 ~ 7:00 p.m. Dessert
Buffet Begins, 7:30 p.m. Performance Begins at Christos Banquet Center (800
W. Jefferson, Plymouth) Ticket Price: $15.00
Adults; $8.00 Students (Grades K-12) Experience a performance by the
Grand Prize Winner of the 2005 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.
Held each year at Notre Dame University, this competition is the largest
chamber music competition in the nation. The Grand Prize Winner will perform an
educational performance for the Argos Community School Corporation. They will
then present an evening soiree performance at Christos Banquet Center in
Plymouth, Indiana. Included with the evening performance will be a dessert
buffet. After the tremendous response last year, with the 2004 Winners -
Jupiter Quartet, Encore is pleased to bring you the Grand Prize Winner of the
2005 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. We are sure this will be an
evening of elegance, artistry and finesse that you will not want to miss. |

Community "Messiah" December 10, 2005 ~ 7:00 p.m. at the
Plymouth High School AuditoriumUnderwritten by:
Centier Bank and NIPSCO The sixth annual community choir
presents a special choral event featuring the perennial Christmas favorite,
Handel's "Messiah," combining the voices of over sixty volunteer members from
Marshall County and surrounding communities. Directed by Mary Pat Glaub.

Michiana Artists Group April 9, 2006 ~ 4 p.m. at Ancilla Domini Chapel
Partnering with Ancilla College Ticket Price:
$15.00 Adults; $8.00 Students (Grades K-12) Michiana Artists Group
was founded in 1978, as an agency for performers, setting up concerts,
recitals, etc. A roster of performers have had successful careers performing
with the LaPorte Symphony Orchestra, Michiana Opera Guild, Festival Players
Guild, Indiana Opera North, Elkhart Symphony, Detroit Opera, Grand Rapids
Opera, and many others. Plymouth resident Laurie Bottoni-Lorenz, a member of
the group, has sung with Indiana Opera North, LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra
and has also sung with Encore's Community "Messiah". Laurie was also a
Metropolitan Opera regional finalist in their annual auditions. Come, learn and
enjoy the sounds of some of the best voices in our area. |

Students (Grades K-12) Josh Duffee & His Orchestra specialize in
the music of the Jean Goldkette Orchestra and other orchestra's from the 1920s
to the 1940s. Jean Goldkette, who had family ties to Marshall County, was a
classical piano player. He led many jazz and dance bands and actually had over
20 bands under his name by the mid-'20s, of which the best known was his Victor
Recording Orchestra of 1924 - 1929, which included, at various times, Jimmy and
Tommy Dorsey, Bix Beiderbecke, Hoagy Carmichael, Eddie Lang, Frankie Trumbauer,
and Joe Venuti, among others. In 1939 Mr. Goldkette organized the American
Symphony Orchestra which debuted in Carnegie Hall. Encore is excited to bring
Josh Duffee and His Orchestra featuring the music of Jean Goldkette and the
historical connection to Marshall County. Join us for an unforgettable evening
of, food, music, dancing and just a good time. |
