The "Music in the Park"
Series showcases musicians at the Young Amphitheater
in Plymouth's Centennial Park during the summer. The amphitheater
is located across from Plymouth High School on Randolph Street. Gates
open at 5:30 p.m. and shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chair
or blanket and enjoy some good music in the great outdoors. All of
these events are free thanks to a generous grant from the Marshall
County Community Foundation. |

KALAMAZOO KENNY & THE INNOVATORS
Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Kalamazoo Kenny's vocal are like no other. Sometimes smooth as silk,
other times raw as a bear's growl. One thing's for certain, when you
listen to Kenny perform, you feel it. The Innovators a group that
started as an idea of John Albright and he set out to make it a reality.
He got together a group of musicians and yes

came, they rocked, they WON! The group consist of John Albright, keyboard,
Tony Brinson, lead singer, Greg Meisner, drums, Chris Bowman, trumpet,
Dr. Rob Riley, trombone/acoustic guitar; Bonnie Meisner, bass and

TRIBUTE TO AMERICA
Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Tribute to America will be a show you will not want to miss. This
show is a Patriotic Tribute to Our Country and The Armed Services.
Those currently serving, from Marshall County, will also be recognized.
The show is produced by Tim Miller, Music Director at Plymouth Wesleyan.
Tim also produces the popular holiday event "Festival of Lights".

BATTLE OF THE BANDS featuring Straightaway
Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park. Competition starts at 5:30
p.m.
Battle of the Bands is Encore's first competition. Interested bands
can send inquiries to 1305 W. Harrison St., Plymouth, IN 46563 or
call (574) 935-4987. Straightaway will be the evening featured band.
They have been voted one of Michiana Now's top 5 Rock bands and a
four-time winner of Heartland's Battle of the Bands. They have a sound
and appearance that hasn't been seen in this area for years. Founded
in 1986 as a Jazz/Fusion combo, the band has gone through a number
of format and personnel changes before evolving into what it is today.
Band members are Dave Tanner, saxophones/keyboard and lead vocals,
Dan Tanner, bass/vocals, Rick McMillen, lead/rhythm & acoustic
guitars; Jimmy Ruggles, lead/rhythm & acoustic guitars and vocals;
and Tony Tallarita, drums/percussion.

CLAYTON
MILLER BAND
Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park. Gates open at 5:30
p.m.
Clayton Miller Band was "born" not made, and while they
have been together all their lives, they moved beyond the singing
around the campfire stage in 1999 to sharing the stage with the greatest
names in Blues; like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mississippi Heat, Buddy
Guy, B.B. King, James Cotton, Walter Trout, The Nighthawks, Urge and
Ricky Skaggs. While you will be amazed by the novelty of a band that
consists of Dad Larry on bass, brothers Clayton, 21 on guitar and
vocals, Cole, 17 on drums and vocals and L.D., just 9, wailing on
the harmonica, you will come away captivated by musical chops that

LIVINGSTON TAYLOR
Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park. Gates open at 5:30 p.m..
Livingston Taylor was born in Boston in November of 1950 and raised
in Chapel Hill, NC, second youngest in a family of five. His father
a doctor, his mother and siblings Alex, James, Kate and Hugh, Livingston
states that "we are a very close family and music was always
around the house". He has recorded 12 albums, first released
in 1970 and the last in 1999. He has written two children's books
and is a full professor at Berklee School of Music. Livingston describes
his music as a folk jazz style with a pinch of R & B and country.
You will not want to miss this show of melodic, inviting, impeccably
