Join us on May 7th for our second Dinner and Music Series performance of 2012.

Whether you want to welcome spring or give your mother a special Mother’s Day gift, join Encore for dinner and music with Lake Effect Winds a woodwind quintet based in the St. Joseph, Michigan area. The quintet performs a wide variety of music, ranging from Baroque and Classical, to 20th century styles such as show tunes, big band, and patriotic. Repertoire also includes Christmas and wedding music.

Quintet members include:

Flute, Jan Street — Jan graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, with minors in music and integrated creative arts, and earned a Master of Arts degree in classroom teaching from Michigan State University.

Oboe, Ruthann Adams — Ruthann received her Bachelor of Science degree in both Music and History from Indiana University at South Bend.

Clarinet, Melody Prather —  Melody graduated from Anderson University with Bachelor’s degrees in both Music Business and Business Management and a minor in Voice Performance.

French Horn, DeLain Bomer — DeLain received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Bassoon, Lisa Boomer — Lisa received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in Wheaton, Illinois.

Since its formation in 1997, the group has performed for numerous social events and parties, weddings, church services and outdoor concerts. Notable performances include the WAUS Second Sunday Series at Fernwood Gardens, the Riverfront Concert Series in both South Haven and Niles, Monday Musical programs, and the Toast ‘n Jam children’s concert at the Dowagiac Dogwood Festival. They also present educational assemblies for elementary through high school students.

Celebrate  Valentine’s Day with dinner and cabaret music featuring BRENDA WILLIAMS.  Brenda Williams is adynamic and vivacious singer and actress based in the Indianapolis area. Equally impressive to her voice and talent is her resume, which includes performing for 3United States Presidents.

Ms. Williams gained recognition in the Indianapolis area with her award-winning performances in the American Cabaret Theatre, the Indiana Repertory Theatre, and Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. And her national recognition packs much star power. Ms. Williams has been the opening act for headliners such as Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, Lee Greenwood, Chuck Mangione, and Meryl Streep. She has been spotlighted by the Indianapolis Woman Magazine for their Local Female Musician Choice Award, recognized by the Indianapolis Star as one of the Top People To Watch, and Second Runner-Up to the Mrs. America Title.

Ms. Williams has built a large fan base in Central Indiana over the years through her ability to perform a wide variety of settings in her own defining style. Whether performing in the theatre with Broadway tunes, singing ballads in a Supper Club, or swinging away in a Jazz Room, she is able to energetically communicate with her audience.

We’re really excited to give you a summer of outdoor music at the Young Amphitheater across from the Plymouth High School.  This year we have  Parrots of the Caribbean, Alligator Blackbird, Southside Denny and the Snyders, Notre Dame’s The Young Company, George Stricker & Wild Rose Moon, and ending the season with Danny Barber’s Jazz Cats!  We have a variety of musical artists to showcase from all around the area. It’s going to be a great season and we look forward to seeing you!

Enjoy a fall evening of dinner and music with The Euclid Quartet.  A dynamic ensemble known for performances filled with personality and vibrant color, is recognized as one of the most well-regarded chamber ensembles in its generation. Captivating audiences and critics ranging from Carnegie Hall to school classrooms to radio and television broadcasts, the quartet has performed to great acclaim across the country.

The eclectic mixture of the quartet members – Jameson Cooper, Jacob Murphy, Luis Vargas, and Si-Yan Darren Li – represents four continents of the world. They are originally from Great Britain, the U.S., Venezuela, and China. Formed in Ohio in 1998, the Euclid Quartet takes its name from the famous Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. Within three years, the group became one of only three ensembles awarded the String Quartet Fellowship to participate at the Aspen Music Festival.

In 2007, the Euclid Quartet was appointed the Quartet-in-Residence at Indiana University South Bend, where the four of them teach private lessons and coach chamber music. The quartet is committed to exposing young audiences to the joy of chamber music, and frequently performs programs tailored towards children, including a series of performances as “musical explorers” at Carnegie Hall.  The quartet will be conducting an after-school workshop for the Plymouth Community Youth Orchestra.

Their debut CD on Centaur Records features the work of Hugo Kauder, a little-known Jewish composer from Vienna who sought refuge in the U.S. from the Nazis.

Together, this group of five exemplifies a wide variety of talent second to none.  They individually established themselves in their respective instruments, playing nation and worldwide independently and with other groups.  It is obviuous that these are musicians that are passionate about the music they play.

Gates open at 6pm, show starts at 7:30pm.  Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket, your favorite beverage, and some friends!
